Ammolite

Ammolite is one of the rarest gemstones in the world, if not the rarest, along with red diamonds and alexandrite. Found only in the Bearpaw shale formation of southern Alberta, CA, and northern Montana, known reserves are estimated to last only 20 more years. Ammolite is the nacreous shell of an extinct ammonite, and because of it’s fragile nature, it is usually stabilized and protected with various methods. Using green jade to back a thinner stone when necessary, and a hardened jeweler’s resin for surface protection, we create a durable, eye catching, bright ammolite gemstone of lasting value and timeless beauty.
